Torteau is situated 2km away from the pretty
village of Prissac.
Prissac
has its own boulangerie,
butcher, pharmacy, doctor, dentist and post office. There
are many walks starting there and lots of places
to explore by bike. A new restaurant has
opened serving meals and drinks every weekend and lunch
during the week. The beautiful medieval village
of St Benoit du Sault
is around
6 minutes drive away and has been designated one of the most
beautiful villages in France, it also has a large
supermarket and a range of shops. The delightful
large village of Belabre
is a 10
minute drive away with an excellent restaurant, Argenton-sur-Creuse
is a 15 minute drive away with a number of
enticing restaurants and bars. Le
Blanc is around
20 minutes drive away and has a number of bars
and restaurants also.
There are many places in
the surrounding area of interest to
tourists. Belabre
has its own swimming
lake and kayaks for rental. Lac
du Chambon at
Eguzon,
around a 30 minute drive away, is a very large
lake with many different water sports including
windsurfing, canoeing, water-skiing and kayaking.
